OMNI PRODUCTION UPDATE #9

Production Update

The factory has been making shells and soul plates all week and are just about ready for assembly. The team is testing the new rivets and more flexible cuffs this weekend and initial feedback is that they’re a noticeable improvement over the first samples they skated. Once we give sign off they’ll make the new cuffs and start assembling the skates. Look for some pictures of that hopefully next week.

Open Source

I’ve been a huge fan of open source projects in software development and feel the blading community would also benefit. In the coming week, the mounting dimensions and contours of the Omni soul plates will be open sourced. This means designers will be able to download 3D files and create their own soul plates that fit the Omni perfectly. I’ll be sharing more information about this project next week, but until then here's a picture of a minimal soul plate design that will be included as of the developer files.
