OMNI PRODUCTION UPDATE #8

Production Update

The wheels are done and shipping to the factory next week. The factory is in China and our wheels made in South Korea. We’re using the same vendor that makes the 50/50, Chroma, Compass and Mushroom Blading wheels. While they’re a bit more expensive it’s worth the effort. We expect the wheels to arrive on the 14th just in time for the frames to be out of production and ready for assembly.

Team Update

Last weekend the team met up in Nashville to start working on the first video. We’ve had skaters riding the Omni for over 6 months now, but this was the first time the team had skates in their size, so it was a really good test of their durability and performance. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, noting the unreal lightness and ease of locking soul and topside tricks. A few quotes from the team:

"Grinding slides faster and it’s easier to lock on. I was able to skate the skatepark aluminum alloy rail without waxing it (I can never do this)”

“He said this is the best fitting skate he had ever put his foot into, that we got the width to length ratio perfect. They all were so confused on why the skate was so light”

“People keep asking me how they are and I say I really like grinding in them and I know that has made a few people go oh shit they’re that good?”

One thing the team did discover was that the riveted cuffs started getting a little loose after a few hours of skating. We hadn’t seen this with our testing but we also aren’t skating at their level. We immediately emailed the factory and they've upgraded to stronger rivets which will be fastened much tighter for production. They’re already sending us updated shells for approval which should be here next week. Even though it likely wouldn’t be an issue for 95% of skaters, it’s important to us that every known issue is addressed. And we’ll continue to improve the Omni with every production run.
